Liberalism will bring catastrophic failure

Having belatedly read Amity Shlaes’ “The Forgotten Man,” a history of the Great Depression, I was stunned by catastrophic failure upon failure undertaken first by Herbert Hoover and then by liberals of FDR’s administration to remedy the depression.

Many of the administration had returned from Joseph Stalin’s Russia enthralled with the new economic order and proceeded to replicate it in the U.S., complete with communal farms and new federal cities.

But worst of all, from raising taxes, demonizing business, re-distributing wealth, and forcing unionization upon employers, Obama and the unprincipled radical left which he leads intend to repeat all that did not work under FDR.

They have, in 60 days, levied a generations-long tax burden, doled out countless billions of our nonexistent dollars to wherever votes could be purchased, begun another threat to all who own guns, and intruded upon our lives.

Those who voted for Obama, had they any awareness whatever, should be ashamed of themselves.

The raising of the number of liberals in Bonner County should be looked upon with disgust, as liberalism, like racism, is destructive to society and should be beaten back at every opportunity.
