Behind every great hospital is a great staff

| May 5, 2009 9:00 PM

Behind every great hospital is a great staff. That’s the theme we will celebrate as Bonner General Hospital joins health care facilities across the country in recognizing National Hospital Week next week. Sponsored by the American Hospital Association, National Hospital Week honors the people who make America’s hospitals the best in the world.

We invite you to join in our National Hospital Week celebrations by attending our free community health and wellness fair next Tuesday, May 12, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the hospital. Take advantage of many free health screening services and learn how to keep you and your family healthy.

Just a few of the services we’ll be offering include blood pressure checks, cholesterol testing, blood sugar screenings and balance/fall risk assessment. We’ll also have free healthcare powers of attorney and living wills, with counselors on hand to answer any questions you may have about these important health care-planning documents. We’ll also have staff on-site with educational information about diabetes, hypertension influenza and more. Bike safety helmets will be available for just $5.

In addition to celebrating National Hospital Week with our community, we’ll be honoring all of our 400-plus employees who work so hard to give excellent care each and every day. Whether they provide direct patient care or work in a non-clinical position such as housekeeping or dietary services, all of our employees contribute to the health and well-being of our patients. We’ll be hosting various activities for our employees throughout the week, including announcing our Employee of the Year and awarding service pins to those employees who have worked at the hospital for numerous years.

People come to the hospital with many different problems, but they all come for the same reason-to get better. The doctors, nurses and staff at Bonner General Hospital have one mission-to help people get well. During National Hospital Week, we’re celebrating the wonderful, committed professionals who make our not-for-profit, community hospital a place where healing happens every day. We appreciate all they do every day and thank them for their professionalism and dedication to our community.
