Denham, McLelland lead Wampus Cats at NSL meet

HARRISON FLATS — Senior Adam Denham won the mile in 4:49 and also won the 3,200 to lead the Clark Fork boys to a second place finish at the North Star League track and field championships Tuesday at Kootenai.

Cody Bowers won the discus with a throw of 129-6, and Chaunce Nesbitt won the triple jump, finished second in the 100 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles. Zach Anderson, Chris Parker and James Becker also placed for the Wampus Cat boys team.

Alysha McLelland won the 200, finished second in the 100, and third in the long jump and 100 hurdles to lead the Wampus Cat girls team, which finished third overall. Zara Palmer won the 300 hurdles, and Mackenzie Quiroz and Alax McLelland also placed for Clark Fork.

The 1A Region 1 meet is Friday and Saturday at Kamiah High.
