Motorcyclist ejected in Lower Pack crash
SANDPOINT — A Sandpoint man was injured Tuesday after being ejected from his sport bike while speeding up Lower Pack River Road, Idaho State Police said.
Delman Lane McNutt Jr. was thrown as far as 30 feet after the Kawasaki Ninja he was driving struck an embankment and a large rock at a high rate of speed, according to ISP.
The crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. in the 100 block of Lower Pack.
McNutt, 46, was not wearing a helmet and was reportedly taken to Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene for treatment. His condition was not immediately available on Wednesday.
McNutt was cited for reckless driving, state police said.
In a separate crash early Wednesday morning, two people were injured in a rollover crash east of Bonners Ferry.
State police said William Dixon, 19, of Naples, was westbound on Cow Creek Road and failed to negotiate a corner. The Dodge pickup truck he was driving went off the road and collided with downed tree on a dirt embankment.
The pickup rolled once, ejecting a passenger, a Naples resident whom state police did not identify. The person, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Boundary Community Hospital and then airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
The person’s condition could not be ascertained because no name was provided.
Dixon and a second passenger, whose identity was also withheld, were taken to Boundary Community. State police said it was unknown if Dixon was wearing a seat belt and there was no indication if the second passenger was wearing a restraint.
The crash happened just after 2 a.m., ISP said.
