Contributions allowed departments to train

| May 9, 2009 9:00 PM

The North Idaho Fire Chiefs Association and the Sandpoint Fire Department would like to thank the following for their outstanding contributions to our recent live fire training on Boyer Avenue: Dakota Consulting Inc. for donating the house in which our firefighters were able to perform live fire burns. Without an actual structure to use, training is limited.

We also want to thank GTS Interior Supply for the sheetrock, Ponderay Home Depot for the plywood, and Pro Build Lumber for all of the remaining lumber needed to make the house safe and NFPA compliant for fire training.

Thank you also to System Roofers Supply and Jock Johnson for the pallets needed to make fire cribs. We also want to thank Jimmy’s BBQ and Wendy at the Hoot Owl for the fabulous lunches they provided, Carter Country for the use of a large water trough to hold all our water and sodas, and Ace Septic Systems, Waste Management, and Bonner County Solid Waste for their much needed discounted services.

Last but not least, a big thank you to the Sandpoint Fire Department firefighters, Sagle Fire Chief Rob Goodyear and Chief Jock Johnson and the Paradise Valley Fire Department for the time all these guys spent prepping the building, preparing and assisting with this two-day event.

Without the support, generosity and contribution from these individuals and businesses we would not be able to provide such in-depth live fire training drills. Our firefighter training insures public safety, and we thank everyone involved.
