Barbara J. Stevens passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009, at her home in Lewiston, Idaho.

Barbara Jo Knievel was born in Las Vegas, N.M., on Nov. 18, 1929.

On June 3, 1950, Barbara married her best friend and love of her life, Leon Albert Stevens, better known to family as “Steve.” They had an adventurous marriage, traveling to interesting places throughout the world.

They lived in Anchorage, Alaska for many years. After living in Denver and Sandpoint, Idaho, they finally decided to call Lewiston their home.  Barbara worked for the Forest Service before retiring several years ago.

She enjoyed Bible study groups, volunteering at the Eagles Club and at the fairgrounds, playing bingo, working in her flower beds, and cooking.  She especially cherished the time she spent at gatherings with her family and friends.

She is survived by her brother, Dale Knievel and wife Betty; nieces, nephews, and many many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve; a sister, Alice Knievel Greenway; and her brother Tom Knievel.

All of Barbara’s friends are invited to join us for a celebration of her life at noon Friday, May 15, 2009, at the Eagles Club, 1304 Main St. Lewiston.

Barbara has requested a private interment at Lewis & Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Lewiston Fraternal Order of the Eagles, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
