Economic recovery workshops set

SANDPOINT — The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce is offering a free Economic Recovery Workshop series to help businesses and individuals in these difficult economic times.   

“Our board recognizes that this is a time to reach out to our businesses and the community to offer resources to them that they would otherwise not be able to afford,” said executive director Amy Little.

“This effort to offer free workshops would not be possible without the support of our participating businesses including STCU, Williams & Parsons, Mountain West Bank, North Idaho Health Network, Ruth Wimberly Human Resources Consulting, and the University of Idaho Extension office.”

The workshop series includes the following topics with their respective dates:

• May 13 — Business in a Bad Economy on

• May 14 — Stimulus Legislations & What It Means to Business Owners

• May 19 — Personal Financial Planning for Displaced Employees

• May 21 — Nonprofit Taxation & the Law

• May 27 — Interviewing, Resume & Cover Letter Writing

• May 28 — Affordable Health Care for Small Businesses

• June 5 — Grant Writing 101

All workshops in this series are free and available to the general public, and pre-registration is required.
