Businesses provide service, tax revenue

| May 13, 2009 9:00 PM

The attack by the Planning (sic) Commission on businesses that have the “unsightly” drive through is first of all asinine and reeks of a personal vendetta by one or two individuals.

Hey, maybe if these areas of business were painted a sickening color these planning types  would be OK with it. What I don’t see are the businesses that are being attacked publicly by returning fire not only to these malcontents but the City Council which is constantly harping on tax revenue being lost. Well, guess what you Einsteins, these drive-throughs do provide that revenue as well as a public service.

Did you know that a large percent of Sandpoint and surrounding area’s population are senior citizens, and that many utilize these facilities as they are somewhat or totally disabled and these drive-through allow them to get services provided by these establishments.

Your continued callousness regarding seniors and the disabled in our society is reprehensible and un-American. There is nothing wrong with these facilities and if whoever you are that objected to them because you can see them from your home, sell and get out as I’m fed up with the insensitive, dictatorial, self center and politically correct anti-everything in our country.

Come on people, speak up — take back your city.
