House reform plan is simply a disaster
I’ve finished reading HR 3200, “America’s Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009.”
I repeat my comment from a previous editorial -— this bill is a disaster. Don’t take my word for it. Read for yourself. The President, the Senate and the House are lying to us.
I’m now starting on the Senate version.
The first thing that caught my eye is that part of the bill title that says, “…Universal Entitlement.” Universal entitlement? Lord, have mercy!
I suspect the Senate version will mirror the House version, with few exceptions. Any version that passes will affect you (my interpretation) in the following ways: taxes will go up; choice will go away; fines and/or excise taxes are in your future; physicians will be motivated to minimize care; care will be rationed; affirmative action and cultural sensitivity will be forced down your throat; actuarial statistics will be used in deciding approval for a procedure; you will pay for an astounding number of new federal employees to handle the paperwork; huge debt and inflation is inevitable. I could go on and on.
However, I am an optimist. I have to believe voters will throw every incumbent out in the coming election cycles.
Voters have to clean out this den of thieves in Washington, D.C. If we don’t, we’ll get what we deserve.
Thomas Jefferson said, “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.”
He had it nailed!
