Daily Bee launches online video ads

| November 11, 2009 8:00 PM

SANDPOINT — The Bonner County Daily Bee has added a series of on-line video interviews designed to raise awareness and increase results for local businesses and organizations.

The videos — titled “The Daily Bee 2-Minute Tours” — actually take the viewer right into a retailer’s store and make their message more powerful in the process. In the same way, the “tours” bring viewers into the heart of local organizations they may not otherwise experience on a first-hand basis.

“Until now, advertisers and organizations using electronic media have been limited to just 30 seconds or, at most, a minute to tell their story,” said David Keyes, publisher for the Daily Bee. “As part of our strategic move into new media, we are delivering a powerful way to put them in front of thousands of online customers, whenever those customers want to check out the information. Best of all, business owners get to tell their story in a fun to watch format that really gives them time to connect with potential customers.”

The 2-Minute Tours are more effective than other electronic advertising because viewers can actually see the business, business owner and merchandise and the message is always there, just waiting for customers who are in the market for more information.

The Daily Bee will leverage the proven power of its printed publication to drive traffic to the www.bonnercountydailybee.com Web site, where the “2-Minute Tours” will be prominently located for highest viewership. The “2-Minute Tours” are also uploaded to YouTube, where they may be viewed day and night, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

It’s the ultimate one-two punch for our advertisers,” Keyes said. “We catch customers’ attention with an effective print ad that is supported by additional print promotion to click and view the online content.

“Just as important, the process is designed to work the other way around,” he added. “Once viewers have been ‘introduced’ to the businesses and organizations in these online videos, they are more prone to zero in on the print ads.”

The Daily Bee is the leading in print and online news and advertising medium in the market and so the marriage of video to the online advertising options at the Bee just made sense, Keyes said.

With the holidays fast approaching, Keyes invites local business leaders who are interested in expanding their market share to contact the Bee at 263-9534.
