Dan Griesemer has done a lot for CWC

Could you please let your readers know the point you were trying to make in your column (Oct. 22) in regards to Mr. Griesemer’s financial package and his leaving Coldwater Creek. I know that it’s public record but I would like to know why you felt the need to gossip about it.  I can only think of a couple of reasons why you would print what you did. The first is that you were trying to be funny in which case you sadly missed the mark. The second is that you have some personal grudge against Dan and you used your professional power to settle a score.  Care to enlighten us?

I think what you did was hurtful and mean spirited. You took a pot shot at some one who has been a huge asset to both Coldwater Creek and the community. How many millions has he had a hand in making before the market tanked? What about all the things that were done to ensure the company’s survival, or positioning it for long-term profitability in the most challenging retail environment in 60 years?  I’ve watched he and his wife donate time and thousands of dollars personally at events put on by many of the local charitable organizations.  I’m sure you were there to witness it too.  You don’t seem to be interested in reporting any of that.

In regards to Mr. Pence needing a loan. The last time I checked he was worth at least fifty times what Dan received. Funny, you don’t seem to have any problem with that.

You know I heard a great line the other day that pretty much sums this up. “Small minds talk about people, Average minds talk about events. Great minds talk about ideas.”  I guess I really shouldn’t expect much more from a small town publisher.
