Patrick Henry Graves, 87

U.S. veteran  Patrick Henry Graves, 87, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Pastor Paul Graves will officiate with interment in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Calling hours will from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel.

Patrick was born in Laclede, Idaho, on Dec. 20, 1921, the son of Earl and Lenora Graves.

He attended school in Laclede and graduated from Sand-point High School in 1940.

He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in Ft Ord, California.

After the war he continued working for Boeing in Seattle as a machinist.

He married Ardyce Brabant in Sandpoint, Idaho, on April 8, 1951.

Patrick returned to Laclede in 1952 and operated the family dairy farm.

He bartended at the Kings Hotel in Priest River and then worked for Louisiana Pacific in Priest River.

He retired from the sawmill, as a chipper operator, in 1983.

Pat was a member of Lakeside Lodge No. 42 AF and AM and a member of the Shrine.

He enjoyed his garden and especially his roses.

He is survived by four children, Julie Graves of Sandpoint, Jerry Graves of Otis Orchards, Wash., Rick Graves in Moscow, Idaho, and Jeffrey Graves in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ardyce; and his sister, Neta Decker.

A reception will follow the services in the Laclede Community Hall.
