Kenneth Lane Utt, 60

Kenneth Lane Utt, 60, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at the Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel.

Ken was born on Feb. 19, 1949, in Magnolia, Miss., to Kermit and Ira Utt.

He grew up and attended schools in California and Oregon. Ken joined the Marine Corp when he turned 18 and served during the Vietnam War.

He married LaVelle Hoyt in September 1973 in Portland, Ore.

Ken did mill work in Spring-field, Ore., and worked for Waste Manage-ment in Portland. In 1994 he retired and moved to Sandpoint.

Ken had amazing knowledge of history and trivia. He was a supporter of all veterans organizations. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hiking, camping, mountain biking, photography, riding 4-wheelers, and watching baseball on the television.

He is survived by two daughters, Sadie Utt of Sagle, Idaho, and Nicole Utt of Kootenai, Idaho; three sons, Nick Utt and Dylan Utt of Sandpoint and Nathan Utt of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and four grandchildren, Shay, Kelcey, Christian, and Alexander.
