Jacqueline Ann Shelton passed away Nov. 20, 2009, in the comfort of her home, with the company of family.  She was a loving mother, sister, and daughter that always put family first.

Born July 4, 1952, Jackie was a native of Idaho and graduated from Sandpoint High School and continued her education with a degree from North Idaho College.

After college graduation, Jackie enlisted with the United States Marine Corps, where she proudly served her country.  She enjoyed her time in the Marine Corps and with the Pappy Boyington Detachment.  Jackie was very proud of all Marines — Semper Fi!

She had a long and successful career, most recently with the office of Kootenai County Assessor’s as a timber/agricultural technician, where she met and fell in love with Roy Armstrong.

She is survived by her mother, Helen Brockway; a brother, James Brockway; a daughter, Jacqueline Patrece Barnhart; and a son, Steven David Shelton. She is the grandmother of Ashley, 11, Helen, 2, Patrick, 16 months, and Steven Jr., 6 months.

Per Jackie’s request, a public service will not be held.

Donations may be made in Jackie’s honor to the American Cancer Society or to an organization supporting the United States Marine Corps.
