CHENEY, Wash. — A host of Sandpoint Shark swimmers nabbed top 10 finishes, and two relay teams finished second at the Turkey Trot Invitational last weekend at the Eastern Washington University campus pool.

More than 480 swimmers from the Inland Northwest took part, making any high place a tough task.

Logan Sanborn, Melina Smith, Emily Deitz and Payton Bokowy combined to finish second in the 9-10 year-old girls 200 free and 200 medley relays, and Briana Brosnahan, Kate Bokowy, IIys Anderson, Morgan Anderson and Chandler Sanborn teamed up in the 100 free and 100 medley relays.

IIys Anderson (10th in 50 free), Payton Bokowy (5th in 50 free and 6th in 100 free and 100 back), Emily Deitz (6th in 50 back and 10th in 100 IM), Keeley Pearlstein (6th in 100 fly and 7th in 100 back), Logan Sanborn (8th in 100 fly) and Melina Smith (10th in 50 fly and 10th in 50 free) each finished in the top 10.

Emily Navarra and Melina Smith each posted huge time drops from just three weeks ago in the 9-10 year-old age group.
