SANDPOINT — A Clagstone man was arrested Tuesday and charged with trafficking and intending to cultivate marijuana.

Judge Debra Heise set William Carlyle Traxtle’s bail at $100,000 and appointed a public defender to represent, according to court documents. Traxtle was also charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Charging papers said that Traxtle, 41, possessed more than a pound of harvested marijuana and scores of ungerminated marijuana seeds. A search of his home on Kohler Road north of Spirit Lake revealed a room set up with lights and indoor growing equipment, although no plants were found, a Bonner County Sheriff deputy’s report said.

A trace amount of meth was detected on drug paraphernalia, resulting in the felony drug possession charge.

A preliminary hearing to determine if there’s justification to try Traxtle in 1st District Court is pending.
