LaDuca, Reiber drwlead in derby

SANDPOINT — Charles LaDuca and Ken Reiber occupied the top spots in the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club Thanksgiving Derby standings on Friday.

LaDuca hauled in a 16-pound, 4-ounce rainbow trout and Reiber pulled in a 13-pound, 13-ounce lake trout, good for first place in their respective standings and fish-of-the-day honors. LaDuca’s rainbow measured 32 1/2 inches and Reiber’s Mackinaw was 32 inches.

Dietmar Kruger and Lee Weber rounded out the top three in the rainbow standings. Kruger boated 29 1/2-inch rainbow that tipped the scales at 10 pounds five ounces. Weber’s catch weighed 9 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 28 inches.

Weber also caught a Mack that put in him in second in the lake trout standings. The laker measured 26 inches long and weighed in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces. Sean Reiber was in third place in the laker standings with a 7-pounder that was 26 1/2 inches.

Blake Jensen assumed a comfortable lead in the youth division with a 13-pound, 13-ounce rainbow.

Bryan Elmore was in second wiht a 6-pound, 10-ounce rainbow and Tristan Roslak was in third with a 2-pound, 3-ounce laker.

The annual LPOIC Thanksgiving Derby runs through Sunday.
