Spring opens new practice
PONDERAY — Seasons Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery has opened its doors.
Dr. Michelle Spring recently opened the practice, located at 30544 Highway 200, Ponderay. The facility offers both plastic and reconstructive surgery, including cosmetic surgery, reconstructive adult and pediatric surgery.
Cosmetic surgery and services offered include facial rejuvenation and sculpting, breast surgery, body contouring, physician facial resurfacing peels, Botox, injectable fillers, licensed aesthetician services (waxing, facials, peels, skin care consultations) and physician-prescribed skin care products.
Reconstructive surgery services offered include breast cancer reconstruction, facial reconstruction, female and male breast reduction, skin cancer treatment and reconstruction, facial fracture and soft tissue injury treatment, burn and wound care, pediatric plastic surgery and congenital deformity repair.
Spring decided to open a practice in the Sandpoint area because of her love for the outdoors and to be close to family members who live in Hayden.
Spring grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and trained for five years at the University of Wisconsin in plastic and reconstructive surger. She went on to complete two additional fellowships — one fellowship in cosmetic plastic surgery and another with a nonprofit group called Interplast, traveling around the world performing free reconstructive surgery on children with cleft lips and palates and disfiguring burns.
She has completed 6.5 years of accredited plastic surgery training following medical school. I worked as a plastic surgeon in Madison, Wis., as well as in San Diego, Callif., prior to moving to North Idaho with my fiancée, Dave, and our two dogs.
“We love the outdoor adventure and the general atmosphere the area has to offer and are so excited to be here,” she said.
Spring said she hopes to provide Sandpoint and surrounding areas the opportunity to be cared for locally for immediate as well as delayed breast cancer reconstruction.
“Working with other local physicians, I want to promote the growth of the medical community to create a comprehensive breast cancer treatment program,” she said. “I provide treatment for facial trauma and fractures as well as other soft tissue injuries, which have historically been transferred out of the area since there has been no provider for these medical emergencies.”
She also offer the entire range of cosmetic plastic surgery services for patients.
“We plan to host quarterly receptions at the office to offer various educational talks, product samples and information about plastic surgery and the practice,” she added. “We hope to meet everyone affected by a disfiguring accident or burn, breast cancer, a childhood congenital deformity, or those who are interested in cosmetic surgery in the years ahead.”
