Don't miss out on Panida's offerings

| October 19, 2009 9:00 PM

Since I first arrived in Sandpoint more than a year ago I have found good friends, a beautiful environment of forest and water, extraordinary people who practice the arts, enjoyable bike rides through town, hikes in the mountains and, among many other wonderful experiences, attending a diversity of entertainment and thoughtful stimulation at Sandpoint’s jewel, the Panida Theater.

Recently I have noticed declining attendance at the Panida … especially the weekend when Sandpoint’s own Scott Kirby brought an extraordinary composer and pianist, David Thomas Roberts, to the Panida. I was shocked at the small handful of people who attended the concert. A number of people came from more than four hours away as well as a couple visiting from Italy. I wondered, “Where are all those sensitive and artistic people of Sandpoint? Why are they not here, at the Panida, to experience a thought provoking presentation by an exceptional artist?”

The Panida exists for the purpose of bringing to you entertainment beyond television, beyond computer surfing, beyond sports, beyond the ordinary. The Panida provides a shared experience of good entertainment and has no purpose unless you have an interest in events and movies that are special.

Let the Panida know you care by getting on its mailing list and being attentive to what it offers to this community.
