Ogilvie has the ability to get things done

| October 26, 2009 9:00 PM

Once again it’s time for political banners, signs in the yards, brochures on your doors and the usual last minute flood of endorsement letters for candidates. Here’s what’s different about all of that this year. A very dear friend, Marsha Ogilvie, is running for a seat on the Sandpoint City Council. In writing this letter of endorsement I can tell you personally what I know about Marsha Ogilvie and her ability to bring people together and get things done.

Marsha and her husband owned and operated a successful downtown business before retiring just a few years ago. While running her business she began her “crusade” to giving back to the community. She started her work with children as a CASA worker, which led her to Kinderhaven where she was instrumental in bringing it to the facility that you see today and she served 12 years as the president of the board of directors. Marsha started Woman Honoring Women 11 years ago bringing recognition to the many amazing woman past and present who have made incredible contributions to our community through volunteering. From The Healing Garden to bringing back Mardi Gras, Marsha has worked tirelessly for the city she loves. This is only a fraction of what she has done for Sandpoint.

Marsha recognizes the critical need to support our downtown businesses and to encourage other businesses to come here and want to stay. She understands this is essential to a healthy thriving community. Marsha is a visionary and not afraid to “think outside the box”. She has a way of getting people to respectfully work together to get things done. She is a thoughtful decision maker and no matter what the task, she thoroughly does her research first.

I know Marsha Ogilvie. She is honest, dynamic and hardworking with seemingly endless energy and is ready to dedicate the time commitment needed for a seat on city council. A vote for Marsha Ogilvie is a real win for the city and citizens of Sandpoint.

Vote  Nov., Marsha Ogilvie for Sandpoint City Council.
