Patricia Irene Plaster Stevens, 72

Patricia Irene Plaster Stevens, 72, of Sandpoint, Idaho, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at her home. 

Patricia was born June 16, 1937, in Sandpoint, the seventh of 10 children born to Oran and Marguerite Plaster.

She married Glenn Donald Stevens on Sept. 6, 1954. Their son Wesley Dean was born in 1955.

Pat worked as a cook for Farmin School in Sandpoint for many years before moving to Spokane, Wash., where she ran her own plant shop business.

She moved to Alaska after Glenn passed away in 1980. She worked at the Sunset Inn and the Hilltop Truck Stop in Fairbanks as a waitress, doing what she enjoyed most, serving others. She then worked in Kotzebue in the gold mines as a camp cook.

She returned to Sandpoint, where she worked at Dover Day Care for Maggie Becher. 

She enjoyed her friends there and the many children she loved dearly.

Pat is survived by her son, Wesley (Vicki) Stevens of Sandpoint; two granddaughters, Tonya (Jeremy) Davis and Joanna Stevens; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ashley, Markus, Travis, and Tanis; sisters, Vivian (Frank) Willford of Cocolalla and Elaine (Chris) Vardas of Oregon; a sister-in-law, Linda Plaster of Sandpoint; a brother, Leonard Plaster of Sandpoint; and numerous nieces, and nephews. In addition to her husband, Glenn, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bonnie, Shirley and Evelyn; a sister-in-law, Nancy Plaster; and brothers, Jack, David, and Mike.

Pat will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Pinecrest Cemetery, with Father Dennis C. Day, officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the Eagles Lodge, on Baldy Mountain Road, 1511 John Hudson Lane, in Sandpoint, hosted by the Eagles Ladies.
