Kiselica, Mertz notch goals to lead Sandpoint over Moscow

MOSCOW — Four different players got into the scoring column, and Sandpoint scored a solid 4-2 road win over Moscow Tuesday in IEL girls soccer action at Moscow.

Elli Kiselica got the scoring started in the most unusual of ways in the 22nd minute, bending in a corner kick untouched for the games first goal.

“She hooked it in to the near post,” said Bulldogs head coach Adam Tajan. “We boxed out her keeper, who couldn’t see it.”

Alicia Mertz added another goal off a set piece, blasting in a free kick from 30 yards out to give the Bulldogs (3-0, 2-0 IEL) a 2-0 lead. Hannah Griesemer and Meghan Pagano also found the back of the net, which was a nice departure after winning the first two games of the season 1-0.

The Bulldogs now turn their attention to a brutal road trip, where they’ll face arguably the two toughest teams in the Tri-Cities, playing Pasco on Friday and Richland on Saturday.
