Youth flag football sign up deadline on Friday

SANDPOINT — The Parks and Rec youth flag football league kicks off soon, with the deadline to register on Friday, by 5 p.m.

Youth flag football registration forms are now available at Sandpoint Parks and Rec, or by visiting “www.cityofsandpoint.com” (link to Parks and Rec).

This fun league is for youths in grades 3 through 6, with play spilt into 3rd/4th grade (Nerf balls) and 5th/6th grade (junior rubber balls) teams. Practices will be held once a week with games played on Saturday mornings at Travers Park.

Adults interested in coaching the philosophies of FUN, fundamentals, and sportsmanship are needed. Games will begin on Saturday, Sept. 26 and play will run through Oct. 31.

Fees for one player are $35 county/ $30 city; two players $60 county/ $50 city; three players $80 county/ $70 city. Jerseys are $12 and can be purchased at Parks and Rec. Scholarships are available on a need basis.

n Women’s volleyball league sign up deadline on Friday

SANDPOINT — Another exciting season of Women’s Volleyball League is almost upon us. Rosters are now available at Parks and Rec, and online at “www.cityofsandpoint.com” (click on the Parks and Rec link).

Leagues are offered for levels A-1 (advanced) through A-4 (beginners). Play dates start Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 5-6, through Dec. 7-8. Format is A-1 and A-2 play Mondays and A-3 and A-4 on Tuesdays.

To register, turn in a $20 registration fee and your completed team roster to Parks and Rec by Friday. The league is limited to the first 24 teams to register.
