Larry L. Swanson

Larry L. Swanson, resident of Sagle, Idaho, passed away Sept. 12, 2009, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

He was born April 19, 1939 in Powers Lake, N.D., to Charlie and Nettie Swanson.

He married his wife Sarah on Aug. 2, 1962, in Las Vegas, Nev. They moved to North Idaho in 1983 from North Dakota.

He worked in the Oil and Gas Exploration field for 52 years, many of them as a seisemic specialist.

He enjoyed boating, fishing, remote control airplanes, gardening, yard work and playing in his shop.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sarah at home; son and daughter-in-law; David and Dawn Swanson of Spokane Valley, Wash.; a daughter, Carol Johnson of Coeur d’Alene; four grandchildren, Clara Johnson, Courtney, Dereck and Cameron Swanson; his mother, Nettie Swanson of Coeur d’Alene; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Roy Thompson of Hayden, Idaho; several nieces and nephews; and also his unofficially adopted son, Larry Gall of Spokane.

 He was preceded in death by his father; Charlie, brother; Art and sister; Kathleen Jones.

Family suggests memorials to the Kootenai Humane Society, P.O. Box 1005, Hayden, ID 83835 or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 9 S. Washington St., Ste 704, Spokane, WA  99201-3718

Memorial service will be Saturday, Sept. 19,  2009, at 2 p.m. at the English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
