Bob Allen Anderson

| September 21, 2009 9:00 PM

Bob Allen Anderson, of Sandpoint, passed away at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene on Sept. 14, 2009.

Bob was born in Sandpoint on Aug. 25, 1965, to Jerry and Pearl Anderson.

He went to grade school at Kootenai Elementary and graduated from high school in San Luis, Colo. In 1988, he graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in business. Afterwards, he continued his education at the University of Idaho.

Bob married Shila Durhiem of Sandpoint, in 1992. They were blessed with a daughter, Lindsay Renee Anderson, who was the light of his life. Lindsay has fond memories of taking summer road trips and going swimming at the beach with her dad.

His work history was as vast as his many adventures, from working in an art gallery in Hawaii to starting his own business making and selling recreational clothing. He acquired his real estate license in the early 1990s, where he pursued a career selling commercial real estate.

Out of all of his endeavors, he cherished the time he spent on the Salmon River guiding for a rafting outfitter. He took the family on a guided rafting trip during one of his days off, showing off his skills maneuvering through the rapids. It was a day filled with laughter and screams as numerous family members paddled through the rapids, following Bob’s lead “dig, dig, no lily dipping mom!”

Bob loved exploring new places. His travels took him from France to Alaska to Hawaii and numerous places in between.

Hiking, camping, canoeing and boating are just some of the activities Bob enjoyed during the summer months. He had a great love of life and the outdoors. Through the winter months he enjoyed hitting the slopes, traveling near and far, all over the western states to numerous ski resorts with family and friends.

We always knew whenever we were having a family get together, if Bob was coming it was sure to be a good time. He was light-hearted and always up for the next adventure with a contagious laugh and would make any outing fun.

He is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Renee Anderson, of East Sound, Wash.; mother Pearl Neveau and step father Jim Neveau, of Sandpoint; sister Cari Anderson, of Sandpoint; brothers Steve Hart, of Sandpoint, and Rick (Tina) Hart of Oxnard, Calif.; step sisters Mary June (Brent) Summers, of West Linn, Ore., and Lois Goe, of Norway; step brothers Mike (Roxy) Neveau, Of Dallas, Ore., and Harold Neveau, of Phoenix, Ariz.
