Woman arrested on drug charge

BONNERS FERRY — A Coeur d’Alene woman was arrested for selling prescription pills to an undercover police officer at Kootenai River Inn.

Frankie Jean O’bleness, 33, on Aug. 31 was charged with delivery of a controlled substance.

According to court records, a Boundary County Drug Task Force officer received a report from Kootenai River Inn security that O’bleness had tried to sell the hydrocodone  to someone in the parking lot and was staggering into  downtown Bonners Ferry.

The officer went to several businesses looking for the woman when he received a call that she had returned to Kootenai River Inn.

O’bleness was located in the casino parking lot, according to court records.  A second officer working undercover approached her and started up a conversation. 

The undercover officer purchased the pills while the first officer looked for his partner’s signal that the deal had gone down.

The first officer approached the pair and asked if there was any drug activity going on.  The woman told him they were exchanging phone numbers.  The first officer then told the woman she just sold a narcotic to an undercover police officer.

The woman looked down and shook her head explaining to the officers that she normally doesn’t sell drugs but she needed money for cigarettes and gambling. 

She was arrested and taken to Boundary County Jail on a $10,000 bond

O’bleness will be arraigned at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Boundary County Courthouse.
