Bulldogs blank Post Falls 3-0

POST FALLS — Meghan Pagano, Elle Engel and Alicia Mertz each scored a goal — all in the second half — to lead Sandpoint to a 3-0 win over Post Falls, completing the season sweep Thursday afternoon at Post Falls High School.

Sandpoint (7-4-1) head coach Adam Tajan was happy to see Engel score her first goal of the season, and like the intensity his team brought to the pitch.

“We came out in the second half and wanted it more than they did,” Tajan said. “All in all a pretty good performance. I was happy to come away with two wins against a much improved Post Falls team.”

Bryce Clark had nine saves to notch her sixth shutout in goal this year.

Sandpoint hosts Mead on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Great Northern Field.
