SANDPOINT — This year’s Business Fair promises to be bigger and better.

The fair, slated for Thursday, Oct. 8, is a lively and entertaining event for the entire family.

New this year kids (and adults) will enjoy climbing on the Idaho Army National Guard’s climbing tower, meeting Silverwood Theme Park’s very own Garfield, bouncing in a jump tent, and more. With free food, samplings

and services, give-aways, door prizes, and grand prizes, this annual event provides a fun way for people to get to know what the community offers.

“Our mission is to promote, develop and support the business community of the greater Sandpoint area, and there’s no better Chamber event to accomplish this task than the Business Fair,” said Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce executive director Amy Little. “We hope businesses and the general public will take this opportunity to see all that is available right here at home.”

Businesses and organizations interested in participating are encouraged to register now. The deadline is quickly approaching at 5 p.m. on Oct. 2. Prices vary and special reduced rates available for nonprofit organizations.

A week prior to the fair, businesses, professionals, and those wishing to start a business will not want to miss an affordable workshop on Oct. 2. President of Graphic Ink Creative Group, Amy Whalen, and Bonner County Daily Bee Advertising Director Kathy Hubbard will present, “What’s In Your Message: Making an emotional connection with your prospects.”

The workshop is part of the committee’s TGIF workshop series presented by the Bonner Business Center and sponsored by MetLife Home Loans.

“In challenging economic times, it is imperative to have a solid marketing strategy,” said Little. “This is typically where businesses cut first, and yet marketing is a critical element, especially when long-time patrons are lost.”

“This upcoming workshop and the Business Fair are two excellent opportunities to develop and promote our businesses,” she said.
