SANDPOINT — One of the most storied senior classes in Sandpoint volleyball history celebrated Senior Night in style Tuesday night at Les Rogers Court, playing relaxed and spirited in dispatching Lake City 25-12, 25-15 an 25-12.

Seniors Piper Wahlin, Koko James, Christina Johnson, Kaiti Lunde, Alissa Millard, Emilie Kuster and Maddy Emmer each made contributions, as the Bulldogs were in vintage form. When asked what word came to mind about her seniors, Sandpoint (11-2) coach Karen Alsager answered quality.

“Quality volleyball players, quality individuals. It was a fun Senior Night, complete enjoyment,” she said, also paying homage to the fans who packed the gym. “This is a great showing tonight of fan support. I’m so proud of my seniors.”

Wahlin had 11 kills and 12 digs, James added 24 set assists and Johnson tallied four service aces. Alsager also had high praise for the play of Lunde, whom she said played with fire.

Britta Forsythe hammered 10 kills to lead Lake City, Hilary Ayers added 14 assists, Jennifer Schuman 10 digs and Holly Cutler two blocks.

Sandpoint heads to the Bear Den in Moscow on Thursday for a 4A IEL showdown.
