CLARK FORK — Senior Chelsea Macumber ripped a career-high 11 aces, and Mariah Miller added seven more as the Wampus Cats served their way to a 25-21, 25-14, 25-23 sweep over Coeur d’Alene Charter Tuesday night in Clark Fork.

“A lot of the girls stepped it up tonight,” said Cats coach Carolyn Speelmon. “We served more aggressively, and I think that made a difference in our play.”

Macumber led the Cats (8-3) with eight kills, Celeste Komanec added 13 assists, Shaina Gustafson and Moranda Becker each had five digs and Jessica Cartmell two blocks.

Speelmon once again had high praise for the play of freshman Moriah Miller, who also riped five kills.

Kara Verhaeghe had seven kills to lead Charter (3-8), Courtney Miles added 11 digs and Britni Turkenburg 12 assists in defeat.

Clark Fork hosts Lakeside on Thursday.
