Kathie Janette Tallon

| April 6, 2010 9:00 PM

April 4, 2010, Resurrection Sunday, Jesus called forth His faithful servant Kathie Janette Tallon. She went home to find rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior surrounded by her husband, daughter, son, daughter-in-law and sister. Kathie’s faith was a significant part of her life that had a profound impact on family and friends.

Kathie was born Dec. 17, 1948, in Chino, Calif., to the proud parents of George and Mildred Landeck. She grew up in a family of four girls: Nancy, Pat, Carol and Kathie.

As a child she was more on the quiet side, very sweet and always kind but had great strength that carried through to the beautiful woman that we all loved. She also had an adventurous side — in her late teens she became a destruction derby driver.

She married her first love Johnie Tallon on May 8, 1965, in Hawthorne, Nev. A few years later, they had their beautiful daughter, Julie; and two years later, their wonderful son, Wesley. They raised their young family in Bishop, Calif., and moved in 1978 to Springville, Utah.

They retired in Careywood, Idaho, in 1991, where they built a beautiful home from the remnants of an old log cabin. Years later Kathie would face a physical tribulation when she was diagnosed with an incurable disease. The doctors gave her 18 months but God had something else in mind …He blessed us with seven years of wonderful memories and precious time with Kathie, she was able to travel and spend time with family and friends. She spent the last few years of her life in Spanish Fork, Utah, enjoying her children and grandchildren.

Kathie enjoyed many outdoor activities which included hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and camping. She loved softball and played on local teams. She loved working in the yard and the occasional shopping spree especially if purses were involved. She was a wonderful homemaker with the gift of hospitality she always had a beautifully decorated home with the incredible aroma of a homemade meal cooking. Our holiday memories will forever be cherished.

There was a peacefulness about Kathie that was always welcoming. She loved her dogs, Jennifer, Mandy, Mikey, Bailey, Lacey, Bumm and Danner. Kathie loved her country and was a proud American. She had a wonderful laugh.

But most of all she loved her family — her husband, John Tallon; her daughter, Julie Tallon Scott; her son, Wes Tallon; daughter-in-law, Kelley Tallon; son-in-law, Jeff Scott; grandchildren, Weston, Stetson, Wyatt, Easton and Rhys; four step-grandchildren; her sisters, Nancy Vengel and Carol Stewart, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pat Fuller.

Kathie was a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and will be greatly missed by all who knew her!

Funeral services will be held at Walker Mortuary on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 11 a.m.  The mortuary is located 187 South Main St., Spanish Fork, Utah  84660 801-798-2169.
