Webster-Merwin leads Bulldog golfers

HAYDEN LAKE — Jessie Webster-Merwin shot a 98 to lead Sandpoint during a rain-soaked Lady Viking Invitational Monday at Hayden Lake Country Club.

“She hung in there, but her short game cost her from being in the 80’s,” said head coach Jim Alsager, whose young team struggled on a tough afternoon. “It was that Oregon kind of rain; straight down and all day.”

Moscow’s Taylor Anderson shot a five-over 77 to earn medalist honors, and Lewiston won the team title.

Sandpoint is at Chewelah next Monday.
