Letter writer adds insight on liberalism

| April 19, 2010 9:00 PM

I come to praise Wynhausen, not to bury him. The proprietor of our local “Liberals R Us” store has done more singlehandedly to define the workings of the liberal mind than anyone. For this we should issue great credit.

It would certainly exhaust whatever limited abilities I possess to attempt to illustrate what occurs in a condition of neural disconnect more so than is clear from simply reading Bob Wynhausen’s most recent letter. For this I am oddly grateful.

In the past, many would take issue with disjointed logic, random interjection of unrelated thought, a complete obsession with accusatorial racist commentary, and a pervasive undertone of bitterness radiating from his writings, but now I thank him.

Without his letter, none would have known that Secretary of State Colin Powell, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, RNC Chairman Michael Steele, and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas were all nominated by Republicans because those Republicans are racists. For this revelation too, we should all be grateful.

And, finally, I want to express to Bob Wynhausen my personal gratitude for holding the liberal mind unto the light for all to see. Some have been highly offended by what they see, but he provides a valuable service, for in truth there is remarkably little difference between him and all liberal thought.

We must applaud him for bringing clarity, even though unintended, to our perceptions.
