Keough represents us honestly, accurately

| April 24, 2010 9:00 PM

First let me say that I am all for challenging the Republican “business as usual” with a libertarian perspective, but in the District 1 State Senate race between Shawn Keough and Steve Tanner, give me Shawn every time.

Why would I say this here and now?

First, because she is already in several very important positions that our area would have diminished influence in, should Steve Tanner somehow have a surprise win.

Second, I knew him several years back, (I worked for him for a few weeks) and I can only imagine how he would “represent” North Idaho. We would have a guy who refused to subject himself to the laws of the land under the pretense of “religious freedom” representing us! We would have a man who refused to have a driver’s license, and then brought a lawsuit against the judge, and the law enforcement officers who apprehended him, representing us as a state senator! Wow, wouldn’t that do wonders for the image of North Idaho!

Though I have not agreed with every single choice that Shawn has made over the many hundreds of times that she has had to make a decision, (though usually I do) what I can say is that she has always been reasonable and has handled herself as a professional without exception. Thank you Shawn for representing us honorably and keep up the good work!
