SANDPOINT — Andrea Cordle, Branch Manager of Horizon Credit Union, received the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Month Award for her active involvement in the community.

Andrea plays a significant role with area high school students, providing financial education to a class at the Alternative High School and volunteering to help with Work Based Learning classes at Sandpoint High School.

This past year she taught financial sessions for the Chamber’s Future Leaders of America Today (FLOAT) and was instrumental in funding transportation for Clark Fork students to attend the program.

Another program she supports is “Money Live” at Coldwater Creek.  At this event, she volunteers to help students understand finances through real-life simulation.

With her passion for education, Andrea played an active role with the Bonner County Communiversity, a soon-to-be established nonprofit organization driven by the community to provide lifelong learning.

Additionally, she helps with many other community events and programs.

Chamber officials said they are pleased to honor Andrea Cordle for her contributions to make the area a better place to live and work.
