Currie, Webster-Merwin lead Bulldog golfers
RATHDRUM — Connor Currie continues to post solid scores for the Bulldogs, shooting a team-low 85 to lead Sandpoint to an 8th place finish at the Lakeland Invitational at Twin Lake Golf Village.
Jessie Webster-Merwin shot 95 to lead the girls team, which was unable to post a team score with only three girls playing.
The Vikings claimed the boys title and Lewiston claimed the girls title on a very rainy and soggy course. Sandpoint coach Jim Alsager said it would have taken an 85 for the girls and 82 for the boys to qualify for state, a number his players fell short of on Wednesday.
“This is the course that districts will be played on,” Alsager said. “We learned some things about the course and will prepare the next two weeks for districts.”
Sandpoint plays next Thursday at the Lake City Invite.
