Linscott named 'Realtor of the Year'

Mark Linscott has been named Selkirk Association of Realtors’ “Realtor of the Year.”

Linscott is a third generation Realtor, obtaining his real estate license in June 1984.

Linscott was selected for the honor because of his dedication to his clients, the association and the public.

He is a published writer; professional musician playing numerous instruments; serves or has served on many association committees and boards on both the local and state levels such as the Idaho Association of Realtors legislative committee, Idaho Association of Realtors forms committee, the local government affairs committee, Idaho Association of Realtors state director and currently serves as the Selkirk Association of Realtors president.

Linscott also has a passion for search and rescue. He started volunteering 17 years ago and soon after became a first responder and emergency medical technician.

SAR officials said Linscott is the kind of person who would go on a Search and Rescue mission no matter what the weather, time of day or night. He has served as a Schweitzer Ski Patrol volunteer for many years and, while on a rescue mission helped save a group of Canadian skiers, a story which was later featured on the Discovery Channel in a recreation filmed on Mt Baker, Wash.

Linscott also works and serves as an advocate for the Idaho Public Lands, Fish Recovery Task Force with the Idaho Fish and Game on behalf of the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club.

In addition to being an ordained minister, Linscott is an extremely family-oriented man who loves spending time with his family.
