Chrysler Building took less time than bypass

| August 10, 2010 9:00 PM

The Chrysler Building (Art Deco skyscraper) and the third tallest skyscraper in New York City, was completed in less than two years in 1930.

The Empire State Building was completed in 410 days, or less than a year and half in 1931.

Construction on the Trans Alaska pipeline began on March 27, 1975 and was completed May 31, 1977.  It crossed three mountain ranges and more than 800 rivers and streams.

It took less than five years during the Great Depression to build the Hoover Dam, the largest dam of its time.

Construction of the U.S. Highway 95/Sand Creek Byway, 2.1 miles of new alignment, will creep along for at least four years … marvelous.
