United we will stand, divided we will fall

| August 24, 2010 9:00 PM

Bruce Johnson listed several Democratic politician/lawyers like they were evil incarnate. He listed several Republicans saying they’re just “businessmen” and “The Democratic Party’s lawyers scam” is akin to ideologies of Marx, Lenin etc.

The Senate/House employees 252 lawyers: 139 Republican versus 123 Democrats. 22 signers of the Declaration and 26 presidents were lawyers. Johnson insinuates being a lawyer/Democrat makes you not a real person.

My cousin serving his sixth tour in Iraq and Afghanistan, a Democrat Army lawyer. He has missed six of his daughter’s eight birthdays. He is very real.

As for Johnson’s businessmen: Bush Jr.’s worth: $25 million. Dick Cheney’s (former CEO Halliburton, awarded the largest valued contract in the world’s history to Halliburton): one-hundred million. Gingrich’s ethical misconduct got him fined $300,000. Delay was indicted on criminal violations of election laws. Armery: “The largest empirical problem we have in health care today is too many people are over insured:” worth one million plus.

Boehner, $8million: doesn’t believe that Wall Street needs reform. He thinks “common sense,” will change Wall Street. He has suggested that Social Security be held until 70 years of age.

Frist, the largest share holder in for-profit chain “Hospital Corporation of America,” admits he adopted cats from shelters using them for experiments when in medical school. Ethical? No!

These are not “typical businessman.” The shop owner in town is. Johnson’s list is a bunch of wealthy, out-of-touch, selfish men.

The idea that if I don’t agree with you, Mr. Johnson makes me a bad American is what is tearing this country apart. The dissention right now is appalling and dangerous … This “us” versus “them” mentality is a precursor to “divide and conquer.”

We need to become the “United” States of America again. Stop the labeling, stop the blame game and stop the mean spiteful political tactics. Say a prayer once in a while for those who have stepped up to the plate to govern us or do you only pray for your side hoping the other side will fail?  “United we stand, divided we fall.”

Think about it.
