Emily Mildred Rabourne, 87

Emily Mildred Rabourne, 87, of Sandpoint, Idaho, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Life Care Center.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug, 27, 2010, at Pinecrest Memorial Park.  

She was born Aug. 5, 1923, in North Carolina, the daughter of Burke and Birdie Pace. She had five brothers and two sisters.

In 1940, Emily’s family moved to Southern California.

She married Emil V. Leh-mann in 1943 and moved to North-ern Califor-nia, where she lived for 10 years. She returned to Southern California, where she worked in insurance and was a bank teller for many years.

In 1965, she married Roger W. “Whitey” Rabourne.

She and Whitey moved to Sandp-oint in the early 1970s.

Emily loved to sing and play the guitar with Whitey. Whitey passed away in 1987.

Emily wrote short stories, a book, and composed songs. Over the years she also enjoyed writing letters to politicians and newspapers. She loved “old-time” country music and enjoyed remembering and writing down the lyrics of old songs.

Her time at Life Care Center was an overall happy experience. Her family wants to thank the staff of the Special Care Unit. They are loving and caring and do so much to enrich the lives of the residents there.

Emily is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy (Donald) Washburn of Sandpoint; her son and daughter-in-law, Dan (Cindy) Lehmann of Torrance, Calif.; two grandchildren, Letisha Lehmann, and Brendan Washburn; and by a sister, Ann Ellis “Bebe” Racey of Herford, Ore.; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and a sister.
