Hoping is not enough unless you take action

| August 26, 2010 9:00 PM

This is in response to the letter by Duan Blair (Daily Bee, Aug. 17): “Child’s actions to dog were extremely cruel.”

If I have ever seen a lame excuse “I truly wish I could have been able to rescue that poor dog,” this was one. Duan, you could have parked the car, followed the girl home (at a distance), contacted the parents or the animal abuse authorities, or an animal shelter for advice. It is wishful thinking to hope that the parents of that girl see your article in the Bee, because not everybody subscribes to a newspaper.

It is very likely that the poor dog is in the same abusive situation. Hoping is not enough unless you take action for a helpless animal.
