Bulldog boys sweep podium at Bonners Ferry Invite

BONNERS FERRY — Led by senior medalist Danny Pfeifer’s top time of 17:49, the Sandpoint boys cross country team took the team title Friday at the Bonners Ferry Invitational cross country meet.

The Bulldogs swept the top four spots, with Jimmy Mathews, Evan Rains and Alex Charvoz finishing second through fourth, respectively on the 5,000 meter course.

Sandpoint senior Molly Burgstahler finished second to Timberlake’s Ashly George in the girls race, and Aubrie Perry (7th) and Rebecca Cloud (8th) also cracked the top 10 for Sandpoint.

Timberlake edged Sandpoint 39-34 to claim the girls team title.

The Bulldogs are at the Libby Invite next Friday.
