Spartan JV downs Cats
PRIEST RIVER — Dalton Soemmer scored 13 to lead three Spartans in double-figures, as the Priest River JV team beat Clark Fork 51-29 in nonleague boys basketball Tuesday night in Priest River.
Nate Nesbitt scored 12 to lead the Wampus Cats (1-2), and D.J. Jackson added eight on a night where the offense struggled to find a rhythm.
“We just weren’t there mentally,” said Cats coach Corey Vogel. “There weren’t a lot of positives, but we didn’t fold in the fourth quarter, we stuck it out.”
Clark Fork is at Lakeside on Friday.

n Wampus Cats JV narrowly misses overtime
PRIEST RIVER — Tristan Bristol scored nine points, and Zack Nesbitt added six as the Wampus Cat JV team fell 30-28 to the Priest River J2 team, missing a shot at the buzzer that would have sent the game into overtime.
