Vivian Ethel Jacobson, 96

Vivian Ethel Jacobson, 96, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Barry Johnson, New Song Bible Church, officiating. Interment followed in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Vivian Turner was born in Terlton, Okla., on Feb. 15, 1914, the daughter of Lily and Bert Turner. The family moved from Oklahoma, to their farm east of Sandpoint in 1928. Vivian was 14 years old at the time.

She graduated from Sandpoint High School, where she enjoyed playing in the band.

In 1935, she married Alvin Jacobson and they were married for 71 years. Alvin passed away on Dec. 6, 2006. Vivian enjoyed gardening, embroidery, crafts, reading, huckleberry picking and canning. They lived on their farm, on Colburn Culver Road, their entire married life.

She is survived by her daughters Carolyn (Lyle) Meacham, and Cathryn (Al) Byars, both in Sandpoint; three grandchildre, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; her son, Carl; grandson, Tim Mecha; brother, Hayward Turner; two sisters, Erma King and Eva Miller; a brother, Otha Turner; and her parents, Bert and Lily Turner.
