Harvey Huffman, 93

Harvey Huffman, 93, passed away on Dec. 3, 2010. in Poway, Calif.

Born Dec. 20, 1916, in South Dakota, Harvey moved to El Cajon, Calif., in 1929 and then to Lakeside, Calif., in 1930. He graduated from Grossmont High School.

Harvey was a charter member of the Lakeside Optimist Club and the Fraternal Order of the Elks.

He helped to build the Memorial Building and was active in the Chamber of Commerce.

He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Harvey and his wife, Serena, moved from Lakeside to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1978, returning to San Diego County after Serena’s death in 2008.

Harvey is survived by his stepsons, Ric White of Ramona, Calif., and Stan White of Bellingham, Wash.; and sister, Clarabell Cray, and a brother, Ronald Huffman, both of Lakeside.

Burial will take place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.
