Sandpoint wrestlers fall to Post Falls, East Valley

POST FALLS — Freshman Jerad Fowler (103 pounds) registered two pins to lead the Sandpoint wrestling team, which fell 71-10 to Post Falls and 42-36 to East Valley in a tri-match Wednesday afternoon at Post Falls High School.
Troy Goodman won a major decision 9-0 for the Bulldogs’ other win against host Post Falls, one of the top 5A teams in the state. Sandpoint’s top wrestler, Garret Belgarde, was not in action on the night.
Kyle Csizmar (140) registered the quickest match of the season for the Bulldogs against East Valley, pinning his opponent in a lickety split :12 seconds of work. Justin Pepperdine (189) and Matt Lockey (215) also secured pins, Mike Fowler (152) won and freshman Lily DeAragon continues to impress, scoring a 6-5 decision at 112 pounds.
The Bulldogs are off until the Cheney Tournament, on Jan. 8.
