Do you admire and respect the president?

| December 26, 2010 6:00 AM

Suppose you knew someone who told a lie whenever he thought it was to his advantage. And let’s suppose you also knew a second person who saw him doing this and looked up to the liar for his ability to lie like he does, tricking others to get his way. Would this person who admired the liar be someone you admire?

Suppose the successful liar also took money from others and used it to bribe people so he could profit, and the same person who looked up to him for lying, admired him for being able to get away with this? Would you think this second person is someone you could respect?

Some lack the morality to withhold admiration from liars, thieves, etc.

Our president said he believes in transparency. He then refused to produce his birth certificate or school records. He locked the opposition out of meetings, said he would eliminate earmarks and signed off on bills containing thousands of them. He took an oath to uphold the constitution, but he brought radicals and communists into our government to tear it down. He is an accomplished liar.

He gives our money (yours and mine) to unions, foreign governments, and anyone else that might further his plans. He is an accomplished thief.

Do you admire and respect the president? Do you respect the others in our government who do the same? Does your moral backbone need reinforcing?
