Badgers take down Wampus Cats in tourney opener

SPIRIT LAKE — Brocklynn Thornton scored 10 points in defeat to lead Clark Fork, which played up in classification and fell 48-33 to Bonners Ferry in the opening game of the inaugural Miller’s Harvest Foods tournament at Timberlake High School on Tuesday.

Celeste Komanec added seven and Claire McMahon five for the Wampus Cats (4-5).

“We had times where we looked really good, and times where we didn’t lood so good,” said Cats coach Dexter Vogel.

Amy Andrews scored 12 points to lead the Badgers.

Clark Fork will play another 3A Intermountain League foe today, when they tip off with host Timberlake at 5 p.m.
