Spartan boys lose to Timberwolves

COEUR d’ALENE — Brady Smith and Mark Smyly scored 15 points apiece as the Timberwolves defeated the Spartans 78-63 in the Holiday Inn Express Invitational Wednesday at Christianson Gymnasium.

“Priest River shoots the ball really well,” Lake City coach Jim Winger said. “It was a good effort by our entire team tonight.”

Max Salesky scored 20 points on 6 of 9 shooting from behind the 3-point line for 3A Priest River (6-2), which faces Post Falls today at 2:30 p.m., the third straight 5A opponent for the Spartans, who knocked off Coeur d’Alene in the opener.
