| February 2, 2010 8:00 PM

tRATHDRUM — Maggie Kirscher scored 12 points to go with four rebounds, two assists and two steals, but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs fell 62-40 to Lakeland in the 4A Region 1 playoff opener Tuesday night at Lakeland High School.

Christina Johnson returned from a head injury to chip in 11 points and five rebounds, but the Bulldogs (1-20) could never seem to recover from a 10-0 second quarter Lakeland run.

“We did a really good job on the boards tonight,” said Bulldogs coach Lance Bruce. “Lakeland really jumped on us in the second quarter.”

Breezy Stecker scored 12 to lead a balanced Hawks’ (8-13) scoring attack.

Sandpoint will await the loser of Thursday’s Moscow vs. Lakeland game in a loser-out match up on Saturday.
